Analysis of White House Down

 White House Down.

White House Down is an action based thriller which contains suspense and excitement. The film also contains short comedy takes which are not too serious from the story line.

In the beginning of the trailer it starts with 3 helicopters flying towards the White House. This suggests that there must be an important person visiting or going there. In the helicopters window you see a male character (Jamie Foxx). This means he is of some importance being in the presidential helicopter. At the frame 0:20, the audience learn the first characters role. From this medium close up, you can see that the character is male and important. As he walks off the helicopter you learn that the helicopter he walks off is the Presidents Marine One, which is only used by the President of the United States. This means Jamie Foxx's character is going to be the President of America. He is also addressed sir when he steps foot of the helicopter.

The second character is John Cale (Channing Tatum). John Cale has a daughter and had missed her talent show. He decides to make it up to his daughter by showing her White House Pass, giving her and her dad access to the White House to view it. At the same time John Cale has a job interview interview with the secret service department. This information is giving you the audience an idea and starts to build a picture of how the story could go. Within the interview the audience learn about his past, and get to know his
personality and character.

The audience then learn/discover that a normal day in Washington dramatically changes into a an action pack chain reaction which makes the audience engage in the movies trailer. From a plane crashing to a shoot out, it is very interesting for people who enjoy action based movies. This makes them want to go and watch the film in cinema or by the DVD if its out.

When advertising, it stated the date in bold writing, with the two famous cast and then the title. This informs the audience who is in it and when it will be available to watch.
