Reading an Image
The image has used dark colours; black and grey, setting a gloomy mood which could be sad and depressing or might suggest a troubled past or present. These colours could be used to show the serious side behind the image and quote, this is because colours such as a light blue or yellow are not used to set a happy tone from the advert.
This image was formed by putting two images together. One image is the celebrity image, which is in this case 50 Cent. 50 Cent has had a troubled past which is used as the second image. This image consist of finger prints which may be linked to 50 Cent and therefore it is added to his picture to make one picture together. Due to the colours black and grey, this picture is a good representation of the meaning behind it because of 50 Cents criminal background.
The text size of the quote is in a medium font compared to the center text " i am what i am ". The center text is written in a old type of font which would make the audience link it to fighting and hard times in the past.
The arrangement of the picture is made up of one picture on the right and one on the left. Put together this creates one whole picture for the audience to look at. They pictures are also shown equally.
Both pictures would be classed as close ups. The first pic would be a close up because it shows mainly the face of 50 Cent, and doesn't show the rest of his body. The second would be a close up because the picture only shows the fingerprints of 50 Cent and not the rest of the file or the environment around the file. The main focus is the fingerprints so they zoomed into to show the audience what they should be looking at.
The setting for the first picture could be in a dark room or area due to the fact that the image is dark and has low lighting. The second image is a police file and therefore could be taken in a police station, which could make the audience change their opinion on the first image and say it is also linked to a police station, meaning the picture was taken in a dark cell.
There isn't a product which is being advertised, but there is more of a life style.
The pose of 50 Cent seems to be very masculine, with a serious glare. This could be a good link to the quote in the top right corner which is his words that could be linked to his past.
